Ichiro 3000?

Ichiro has 1,592 hits in only 7 seasons . That's an average of over 227 hits per year! The only question on whether he'll reach the 3000 hit milestone is how long he'll be able to play. Since he didn't start playing in the major leagues until he was 28, he'll need to keep up his pace into his 40's to get the additional 1,408 hits needed. He currently has fewer hits than several other players his age (33), such as Jason Kendall, Shannon Stewart, and Bobby Abreau. Nobody's talking about Jason Kendall being a 3000 hit guy.

You should note that it took Pete Rose and Hank Aaron 9 seasons to have as many hits as Ichiro has in 7.

And when Pete Rose was Ichiro's current age, he went on to get 1,919 more hits
