Another K Record?

It's clear that Ryan Howard is well on his way to breaking his own single season strikeout record from last season (currently projected: 224, 25 more than 2007 total)

There's an outside chance he can do something no other batter has ever done: Record more strikeouts as a batter than anyone records as a pitcher.
In 2007, 7 pitchers had more strikeouts than Howard's record-setting 199. As of now, only one does.
With his 4 K performance yesterday, Howard now has 101 strikeouts, only 4 fewer than the 105 batters that Edinson Volquez has struck out.

Also of interest, Chase Utley is the only batter with more home runs (22) than Brett Myers has allowed (20). And they are both on the Phillies. Imagine if Utley could bat against Myers?
